Norma F. Usilton
July 2, 1942 - December 21, 2018
Norma F. Usilton, age 76 of Townsend, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Seasons Hospice Inpatient Unit, Christiana Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born July 2, 1942, in West Chester Pa, to Robert E. And Anne B. Ferguson. She was one of two children. Norma was a 1960 graduate of Penn Hall Prep School in Chambersburg Pa. She went on to graduate from Goldey Beacom College. Soon after she began her career at Hercules. On September 27, 1969, she married Louis "Wayne" Usilton. Together they had two daughters. Once her family began, she changed her career to fit her family life. She started a job as a crossing guard when her children were young and would continue to cross children for 35 years before retiring. She loved her job and made lifelong relationships with kids she crossed over the years.
Norma had an uncanny ability to reach people in a positive way. She was a free spirit and loved life! She enjoyed having lunch with friends and spending time with family. Her true passion was horses. She bought her first horse at the age of 17 and would have them throughout her life. To this day she has four horses. Anyone who knew her, knew her love for animals.
Norma was a member of several organizations, the Antique Car Club, the Townsend Women's Club, D.A.R., and the Townsend Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn.
Norma is survived by her husband of 49 years, Wayne, her daughter Becky (Jamie) and four grandchildren Jaden, Sophia, Ashley and Bobby, her brother Robert (Ginny), niece Kim (John) and nephew Bobby.
Services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 27th at 12 Noon at the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown. Visitation with the family will be from 11am -12pm. Interment is private.
